Start-Up Technician – Melbourne

Primary Responsibilities: Performing start-ups on air conditioning units in residential homes for customers.

 

Specific Duties & Tasks:

  • Performs start-ups on new HVAC equipment.
  • Braze and solder various metals to connect piping
  • Install, modify or repairs air ducts, indoor unit, drain pans, drain lines, and outdoor units
  • Install and calibrate thermostats, humidistat, solenoids, and timers
  • Inspect inoperative indoor or outdoor units to locate causes of trouble
  • Disassemble indoor or outdoor units, and replace or repair defective parts
  • Perform preventive maintenance on drain cleaning, coil sanitizing, and motor lubrication
  • After repairs, completely evaluate the operations of the equipment using gauges, voltmeters, leak detectors, sling pycnometers, static, and velocity instruments
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Responsible for special projects as requested by management and other duties/ responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all Del-Air policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Have a minimum of 1 year of HVAC field experience, preferred
  • Graduated from an accredited HVAC technical program, preferred
  • Obtain at least an EPA, Type II certification, Universal preferred
  • Must be able to work on an on-call rotation, when assigned.
  • Be experienced with low & high voltage wiring
  • Maintain Standard Truck Stock
  • Maintain Truck Cleanliness
  • Accurate and Timely Paperwork Completion
  • Troubleshooting maintenance or warranty calls
  • Zero customer property damage
  • Damper System Calls
  • Refrigeration Calls
  • Job site Supervision
  • Customer skills
  • Assisting Trainees and Service Technicians with technical situations.
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Successfully complete a background check and drug screen.
  • Have obtained a valid driver’s license for at least 15 months, and able to meet auto guidelines to operate a company-owned vehicle.
  • Ability to speak Spanish, preferred.
