Job Description Summary
The applicant should have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The right
candidate will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial
reports and be responsible for the completion and accuracy of daily accounting functions relative to, but
not limited to budgeting, accounting and audit.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Prepare journal entries for Corporate accounts
• Record monthly house settlements as they occur throughout the month
• Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure deadlines are met
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to include bank reconciliations
• Review property taxes for all communities and coordinate annual payment
• Prepare draw requests from banks on land development projects
• Weekly preparation of sales leads report to submit to Westwood Insurance Agency
• Prepare sales & use tax returns
• Prepare tangible personal property tax returns and maintain supporting documentation
• Monitor fixed asset purchases and ensure timely capitalization and depreciation of assets
• Review SG&A expenses as provide coding as necessary
• Prepare basic spreadsheets
• Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly financial reports
• Review house and land costing for budget variances, cost code errors and overall accuracy
• Timely submission of monthly report for Builder’s Risk insurance
• Prepare schedules for Audits
• Work on special projects, as needed
• Additional support functions as needed
• Demonstrate excellent customer service in all interactions with internal and external customers
• Demonstrate flexibility while operating in a highly professional manner

Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in accounting or finance
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
• Experience with accounting systems and software, IHMS preferred.
• Minimum 3 – 5 years previous accounting experience.
• Strong financial and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Residential homebuilding/construction accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
• Ability to think critically, manage and prioritize a demanding work load.
• Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions.
• Highly motivated, quick learner and positive attitude.
• Excellent organizational skills, focus on customer service and attention to detail
