Ally Building Solutions provides flooring, cabinetry, countertop, and window treatment products and expert installation services, as well as design studio solutions, to new home builders in greater Orlando and Jacksonville.
We are looking for a Cabinet Design Estimating Specialist to join our team. The Cabinet Design Estimating Specialist plays a critical role in bids preparation process for our new customers. They are responsible for completing detailed and itemized material quantity estimates from furnished plan sets, including flooring, countertops, window treatments, wire shelving, mirrors, and glass enclosures.
What You’ll Do…
- Prepare and organize general contractor bid documents in accordance with the estimating department’s procedures.
- Analyze and evaluate specifications, drawings, blueprints, and other information.
- Preview architectural plans using estimating software and highlight pertinent pages, elevations, keynotes, narratives, unique hardware / finishes, and other project-specific information.
- Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to get clarification of plans, drawings, specifications, and other relevant bidding details.
- Update files and data as new documents are issued throughout the bid process.
- Prepare awarded projects by gathering and compiling information used during the estimating process.
- Examine plans and specs to prepare a complete scope of work
- Takeoff plans using estimating software
- Identifying and downloading all relevant plans, specs, and conditions in bid packages
- Creation and organization of electronic project file
- Work in conjunction with and assist Sales staff to fulfill takeoffs in a timely manner
- Collaborate with senior team members and customers to manage bid updates and track project progression while helping as needed in generating estimates.
- Receive and distribute plans and pertinent information for bids in a timely manner.
- Assist with maintaining the company estimate log and tracks status of bids.
- May perform routine quantity take-offs and calculations.
- Undertake other administrative tasks as required.
What You’ll Need…
- Knowledge of the Cabinet Industry
- Experience with 20/20 Software highly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and blueprints required
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to produce and proofread for well written error free documents
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information
- Ability work on multiple projects while meeting required deadlines
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic fundamental skills in database management
- Experience in RFMS Measure a plus
- 1-3 years of related coordination or administrative work experience preferred
- Experience in Construction Industry a plus
