Compensation
Starting at $60,000 based on experience.
Summary/Objective
Management of the day-to-day operations of new residential construction and/or repair programs, including but not limited to scheduling of subcontractors, inspections, deliveries (in conjunction with purchasing personnel) and volunteer labor (in conjunction with Volunteer Services). Other duties include managing and fostering relationships with Subcontractors, Volunteers and Crew Leaders, assisting with building plans and site development, developing construction quality assurance methods to improve long-term products, ensuring positive experiences for volunteers and working closely with Habitat team to build new residential homes.
Essential Functions
- Ability to read & interpret construction building plans, understanding of grading plans and a working knowledge of construction management software.
- Ability & willingness to work with and teach hands on construction techniques to unskilled volunteers and future homeowners.
- Collaborate with Director of Construction, Site Foreperson and Volunteer Manager to maintain the budgeted building schedule.
- Project management of each new construction building site to ensure all impacted construction and volunteer parties meet critical project milestones.
- Oversee successful completion of repair program projects.
- Work closely with the Procurement Manager to ensure materials are ordered and delivered to site to meet schedule.
- Identify methods to streamline and increase efficiency of construction schedule and make recommendations to supervisor for implementation or modification of existing systems.
- Identify opportunities to decrease construction costs and incorporate Gift in Kind material donations where possible.
- Provide skilled carpentry work and other hands-on labor, as needed, to assist in maintaining an efficient schedule.
- Lead activities and behaviors which promote safety for staff, volunteers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate volunteer scheduling with the Volunteer team to meet the budgeted building schedule.
- Provide leadership and management of Construction Site Foreperson, and Construction Assistant.
- Assist in developing annual building schedule for budgeting purposes.
- Provide site supervision during large Volunteer events, as needed.
- Ensure timely communication with homeowners as necessary through the construction process from pre-construction site visit to walk through.

Required Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in construction management, supervision
- Minimum of 5 years rough carpentry experience
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on residential construction experience
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a variety of audiences, including volunteers, trades and homeowners.
- Strong construction project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must obtain Anti-Money Laundering certificate within first 90 days: training provided by Habitat.
- Must obtain First Aid/ CPR/ AED certificate within first 90 days: training provided by Habitat.
- Must obtain Forklift operator certificate within first 90 days: training provided by Habitat.
- Must obtain OSHA Competent Person certificate within first 90 days: training provided by Habitat.
Preferred Education, Experience & Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, related field, or equivalent work experience
- One year experience in volunteer management or equivalent combination of experience, education and training plus 2 years personal volunteer experience
- Enthusiastic, team-oriented and detailed
- Demonstrated computer literacy (MS Office, project scheduling software preferred)
- Working knowledge of FGBC or LEED and OSHA standards and requirements
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license, with clean driving record, prior to employment.
